“23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. – Hebrews 10:23-25
“Safe Harbor” is the men’s program at the Milwaukee Rescue Mission. All of the 100 to 200 men staying nightly at the MRM attend a daily evening worship service. Falls Church participates by helping to run the service once a month on every 3rd Wednesday. Men running the service meet either at Falls to travel together or gather at the Rescue Mission by 6:45pm to pray before the service. The service itself starts at 7:25pm and lasts for about 45 minutes. We will then stay to talk and pray with men staying at the mission.
Men and high-school age boys can participate by reading scripture, leading prayer, leading or accompanying singing, and teaching from the Bible. This is a great opportunity to use and develop gifts of intercession, encouragement, preaching or music in serving.
